Carnails are one of the most beautiful of red birds. This handsome couple can be seen in summer and winter which make it a briallant bird to watch against the snow. The male and female work together as a team to bring up their young. They may have 2 to 5 eggs at a time and lay up to twice a season. The male does the hunting while the female tends to the eggs. They like to nest in bushes or in thick trees although it is not so good to get to close. The female may just leave the nest and the eggs will be left on their own.
