Participating in mission work is a noble thing to do. It means, going beyond personal and family commitments. However, before participating in mission work, one has to decide what type of mission is of interest. There are many ways to participate; some are local, while other can take you to new and interesting places. Missions can be part of your church, community, helping those in other countries, the poor, and helping the disabled. The list goes on and on. Once the mission is selected, then only methods of participation can be considered.

Almost every church, has its own mission projects. These are related to the community, country and the world. The first way to help is to, consult a church about their mission projects. Research various church missions, to find what suits your interests and inclinations. The internet is a good resource; it lists thousands of mission projects to choose from.

Generally, there are four easy ways to participate in mission work. The first, is to become involved yourself. Actively participate in the mission project by giving time, energy and know-how, to make the project successful. Second is to help financially. Nothing will go far, without the financial backing of supporters. Find mission projects where most of the money goes to the mission, and much less for overhead. Make an investment in the mission, or include mission work in your will. Third, is to help with materials or goods. Donate clothing, shoes, building materials and supplies. Books for a school or a library, in areas where they would be used, is a good investment. Finally, get others interested in the mision work.
